Dearest Friends,
I am in a state of gratefulness.
I was able to help coordinate the donation 350 pairs of socks, 2 bags of women's and men's clothes, and boxes of toys and children's books to an amazing grass roots homeless service organization today. The volunteers that I met with were passionate about helping the population that they served and I felt it. Organization: Meet Me Under The Bridge.
Surprisingly, I learned about the increase of young mothers with infants living on the streets of Indianapolis. Babies without a roof over their head, cold, and hungry. And with the following motto in mind, See a need fill a need, my sense of urgency and my passion for what I do is renewed.
Today I cried tears of:
- Sorrow for the homeless and their individual circumstance (each person has a story)
- Gratefulness for God's mercy in my own life (because it could have me)
- Urgency in asking myself the question: What more can I do to help? to serve? to impact lives? (and making a plan)
- Appreciation for playing a small part in such an amazing blessing with the help of others.
I am blessed to serve.
Thank you for all your help...
